This is a lot of seven letters written to and by various political figures in Idaho. Letters include one to R.Z. Johnson requesting that he intervene on a dispute over a flock of sheep, a letter to Johnson from Idaho Senator Fred Dubois telling Johnson that they would hold off counting election returns until he could get to Boise City. There’s also an interesting piece of correspondence between a B.F. Kloppenberg and Weldon B. Heyburn a U.S. Senator from Idaho (1903-1912). Heyburn was chairing a committee investigating the dealings of Illinois Senator William Lorimer (1909-1912) who had paid $1,000 to get his name placed in consideration for the office.

There is also a letter written by E.J Curtis on Territorial letterhead informing an unknown recipient that he has tendered his resignation as postmaster to the President. The reason concerns an unmentioned scandal. An interesting lot that seems to drip with intrigue.
