Featured in this lot we have a pair of Hopi Native American cottonwood Kachina dolls originating from the 1950's to the 1960's. Each Kachina shows hand carved and painted details. Both show felt, fur, leather, and beaded accents. The dolls are polychrome mineral painted and each is mounted to a round wooden base. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The kachinas measure 14 1/4" tall with the base measuring 4 1/2" in diameter.
