Homer Pettigrew (1915-1997). Born into a rodeo family on Christmas Day in 1915, Homer Pettigrew holds the steer wrestling record for both total and consecutive world titles at six and four, respectively. His awards include 7 World Championships; all-around in 1941, and steer wrestling in 1940, 1942-45, 1948. He was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame with the inaugural class in 1979.
