This is a rare original Cloverine Salve awarded Hamilton Model 27 single shot rifle chambered in .22 caliber. Back in the circa 1906-1940’s Cloverine Salve ran ads in comic books and newspapers asking kids to sell their salve and offering awards for so much of the product sold. The prizes include such pieces as this Hamilton rifle, a Red Ryder BB gun, toys and more. One of the first rifles offered in the Cloverine ads was the Hamilton Model 27, making it highly collectible. The receiver is marked "The Hamilton Rifle No. 27 22 Cal. Mfd by the Hamilton Rifle Co of Plymouth , Mich. U.S.A.". The Hamilton rifle shows good overall condition with a nice patina forming over the receiver as shown. This single shot rifle uses a break action mechanism to load and has an automatic ejector. This rifle requires a Curio & Relic FFL, a NICS Background Check or FFL Transfer.
