Featured in this lot is an Original Signed Impasto Oil painting, "Water Lilies" by Graydon Foulger, Signed and dated '14 at bottom left corner of painting. A wonderful still life impasto painting of water lilies floating on water. Water lilies are among the most beautiful of all water plants and are found in ponds and slow-moving streams, in water up to about 8 feet deep. W. Graydon Foulger has painted all his adult life and loves to paint plein-air to capture the subtleties and spirit of a place yet equally enjoys the challenges of studio work. His interest in painting a wide variety of subjects is served by traveling extensively in the U.S., South America, and Europe. Private, corporate, public and museum art collections include his paintings and several magazines and books have published his works. Showing in many art shows, he has received numerous awards. Attending the European Art Academy in 1966 afforded him a great opportunity to study the many museums, galleries, and studios throughout Europe. Graydon co-founded Tivoli Art Gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah and from 1968-1983 served as president and director of the gallery. During this time he often served as a juror for art exhibits and was active in the art scene in Utah, California and elsewhere. Though finding time to paint was sometimes a challenge, Graydon feels the many facets of the gallery experience were very beneficial to his career as an artist. Passionate about his work, Graydon's goal is to paint competent, honest, interesting paintings ranging from subtle rendering to the colorful impasto. Rear of canvas has title: "Water Lillies" - 2014 - Graydon Foulger at the top of the canvas.
