This is a custom handmade knife and hatchet combination set by Gerome Weinand of Missoula, Montana. This is one of his earlier pieces and shows the Rocky Mountain Elk Antler horn and brass handle with the steel knife blade and hatchet being interchangable. This comes with the black leather scabbard. The blades can be changed by removing the brass screw as seen. Each piece is marked, "Weinand Lolo, MT. with the etched Elk scene. Gerome Weinand was one of the principle founders of the Montana Knife Collectors Association and Montana Knifemakers Association in the 1990's. Knife is 10"L with a 4.75"L blade. Hatchet is 11 3/8"L with a 4.25"x2.5" hatchet head. In the scabbard the piece measures10.5"x5.25".
