German Two-Handed Zweihander Sword, 16th Century Style
A finely crafted reproduction of a 16th-century German Zweihander, featuring a long straight double-edged blade with a reinforced ricasso and distinctive parrying hooks (parrierhaken). The guard is swept with side rings and straight quillons terminating in flared finials, complemented by a tapering grip bound in polished steel and topped with a spherical pommel. This formidable type of sword was historically wielded by Landsknecht mercenaries for breaking pike formations and engaging in close combat. The present example exhibits bright steel surfaces with some light spotting and oxidation consistent with age and display.
