This is an original George Lawrence hand made western saddle. The saddle is from circa 1900 made in Portland, Oregon. It has chain link stamping on the skirt, jockeys, fender, and cantle. The saddle also has double leather conchos, chrome dees, and a braided rawhide horn. This original piece of western saddle history is a collectible early saddle from one of the most renowned and sought after saddle makers. The George Lawrence Company became the largest producer of saddles in the Northwest. Many were shipped from the West Coast to the gold strike area in Alaska and the Yukon Territory. It was a saddlery and harness shop made famous by also producing exquisite leather goods such as handgun holsters, fishing creels, cartridge belts, slings, scabbards, etc. The saddle has a 13.5" seat.
