This is an exceptional collection of fifty rounds of unfired original .45 Colt Ammunition from the Frankford Arsenal. The ammunition is from circa 1875 and shows a copper Benet-primed case loaded with 28 grains of black powder and a 230 grain flat nose lead bullet. The cartridge was manufactured to fire in the Colt Model 1873 Single Action Army Revolver and the Smith & Wesson Model 1875 Schofield Revolver. The internally primed center-fire cartridge case is considered a .45 Colt, but some have given it the designation, the .45 Government Revolver Cartridge. All of the ammunition offered in this lot is in unfired good condition. Some of the cases show a reaction to the lead, as shown, which is original to the ammo. Total of 50 rounds included in this lot. This ammunition sells for $30-$40 and above for a single cartridge. The cartridges measures 1.4" L x .45 bullet diameter x .47 case diameter x .51 rim diameter
