Photographer is Frank Fiske of Fort Yates North Dakota. Subjects are identified as Mary Gates Archambault and Annie Gates. 4 1/4" by 6 1/2". Annie Gates (1883-1931) Mary Cecilia Gates Archambault (1885-1952), granddaughter of Grand Chief Two Bears, one of the signers of the Treaty of Fort Laramie. When Mary Cecilia Gates was born on 4 February 1885, in North Dakota, United States, her father, Frank Gates, was 32 and her mother, Mahpiya Bogawin "Nellie" Two Bear, was 30. She married Joseph Allen Tatankapa Archambault on 8 January 1907. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. She lived in McIntosh, Corson, South Dakota, United States for about 20 years and United States in 1949. She died on 2 April 1952, in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, New Mexico, United States, at the age of 67, and was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque, Bernalillo, New Mexico, United States.
