This example has a large amount of tight English floral scroll engraving. There is engraving on the side locks, receiver, hammers, break lever and trigger guard/lower tang. There is a gold inlaid "2" on the top tang between the hammers and a "2" is engraved on the lower tang. The concave solid rib has a single steel bead sight, is engraved "BOSS & Co. 73 St JAMES'S STREET LONDON" and has a gold inlaid "2" near the breech end. This shotgun was originally part of a game bird set. The right barrel is choked improved cylinder and the right barrel is jug choked .009. The chambers measure 3 inches and have ejectors. Mounted on a nicely figured, multi-point checkered walnut splinter forearm and straight grip stock with a silver initial oval, a leather covered soft top comb and a 1 1/8 inch walnut spacer with serrated bare butt. With a leather covered oak takedown hardcase, 2 piece cleaning rod, a nickel plated oiler, 2 snap caps, a leather covered steel hand protector, an ivory firing pin container with screw top lid and a screwdriver.

Good as refinished, the barrels retain most of the refurbished brown finish with nearly all of the Damascus pattern visible. There is some areas of pitting underneath the forearm and some scattered minor scratches and high edge wear overall. The remainder of the metal components have a bright appearance with some scratches, dings and minor pitting. Most of the engraving remains well defined. The right hammer has some small chips absent. The wood is very good as lengthened and with a soft top comb installed along with some scratches and dings. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are all good.
