Elkington Cake Knife & Fork In Fitted Case Cased Elkington & Co. Silver Plate Cake Knife And Fork 1858 And 1867. This Is An Exceptional Set Of Cutlery By The World-renowned Elkington & Co. Whom Patented The First Commercial Electroplating Process In 1838. The Company Was Based In Birmingham, England. Both Pieces Are Of The "lily" Pattern, Introduced In 1850, And Bear The Elkington Stamp As Well As Date Marks. The Knife's Date Mark Is "t" In A Diamond For 1858 And The Fork Is Marked "e" In A Clipped Corner Rectangle For 1867. The Knife Also Bears The Silver Mark For Harrison Brothers And Howson Which Most Likely Represents The Hand Chasing Of The Design On The Blade And Fork. The Set Is In Exceptional Condition With Very Little Signs Of Use And In Their Original Case. The Photos Are A Part Of The Overall Condition And Description. Lily Pattern Was First Produced By Elkington & Company In 1850 In Readiness For The Great Exhibition At The Crystal Palace. The Design Is A Good Example Of Victorian Naturalism, However It Is Often Commented How The Flowing

We handle all shipping of items in house. We use our shipping rate and pass that savings on to our buyers. There will be a small handling fee for boxes and packing material that usually runs $3-$5 per box. Larger items can get expensive to ship. If you have any question please let us know. Insurance will be at the expense of the buyer. Any damage or lost items during shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. Insurance is recommended. All items must be paid for auction day. Live bidders must pay for and remove items immediately following Sundays auction unless special arrangements have been made. Internet bidder check out days Tuesday April 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday April 26th from 9:00 to 5:30 p.m. Any items left after these days will be shipped to address provided at the buyers expense.
