Early Chiefs Turquoise & Trade Bead Necklace
Featured in this lot we have a Native American Chiefs turquoise and trade bead necklace originating from the early 1800's. The necklace shows beaded construction with white and blue trade beads, red white hearts, green hearts, pipe stone, turquoise, and seven silver concho beads. The pendant shows a silver concho and pipe stone bead above a large piece of cripple creek turquoise at the bottom. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. David and Marsha Bowerly of Oregon. The piece comes with an original museum collection tag stating, "Chief Piece $550" and "Dinneen 47". The necklace shows good condition overall with some light wear across the beads indicative of age. The necklace measures 27" in circumference with the turquoise measuring 1 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" tall and 1/2" thick.
