Available in this lot is an early embossed tin sign for Chico Hot Springs, located in the Heart of one of Montana's many jewels, the Paradise Valley - Nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Absaroka Mountain Range. The first written record of Chico Hot Springs was in the diary of miner John S. Hackney, dated to January 16, 1865. In the late 1890's, two wooden tubs were constructed, with a small wooden building built atop. It was in 1900 that the main lodge of the Chico Hot Springs Hotel was opened, and a 44' diameter, and 6' deep pool was constructed. The sign appears to originate from the early to middle days of the Chico Hot Springs, likely late 1930-. The sign shows a highlighter yellow color, and reads in embossed letter; "Chico Hot Springs". The bottom edge of the sign faintly reads the manufacture label , you can make out "... Sign Co. Chicago...". The sign shows fair condition, but still displays well as a piece of Montana history. The sign measures 13 3/4" wide, and 9 1/2" tall.
