The lot features a Belgum Flobert Wanant singl shot breech loading rifle chambered in 6mm. The rifle features a 24 inch full octagon barrel, straight grain hardwood stock, rolling block breech loading mechanism, and blue’d finish. The rifle originates from between the early 1890’s to the early 1920’s. The three main Flobert variants are described and illustrated in Single Shot Rifles And Actions by Frank De Haas. Many Floberts were made of very soft steel and designed to sell at the lowest possible price. In 1920, when a box of 100 black powder .22 shorts cost 21 cents, the price of a new Flobert rifle was about $2.50. This rifle is in fair condition, with wear and signs of use. The mechanics are working, but the trigger will not stay cocked. The bore shows some darkness. No serial number. This is a Curio & Relic firearm. FFL transfer or NICS background check required.
