Item/Description: Large Chinese carved hardwood architectural panel, likely Qing Dynasty, hand-carved from solid elm or camphor wood and later adapted for use as a headboard. The structure features three inset high-relief figural panels depicting traditional garden scenes, retaining traces of original gilt decoration. The lower apron displays intricate pierced openwork carvings of scrolling foliage and phoenix motifs, symbols traditionally associated with status and femininity.
