Featured in this lot is this collection of excavated Civil War "Union Eagle" Brass Buttons; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are a total of six buttons in this collection, with all of them sporting the "Union Eagle" and shows four of the six larger for overcoat buttons and the two smaller for dress shirt uniforms; all of them are brass. Each of the buttons are marked with patent dates and manufacturing company, but due to the excavated nature of the buttons the patina of the buttons makes the markings unrecognizable. The buttons come complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Military Uniform Buttons. The condition of this collection of Civil War buttons is preserved with some light to heavy patina adorning the buttons with one of the coat buttons showing a smashed demeanor. The measurements of this collection of buttons ranges from 3/4" x 3/4" to 5/8" x 5/8". The collective weight of this collection of buttons is 15g.
