This custom-made prop mushroom was created by the production of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) for use as set dressing inside E.T.'s spaceship. Designed to help create the film's otherworldly environment, the piece reflects the intricate organic aesthetic that became one of the most memorable visual elements of Steven Spielberg's beloved science fiction classic.
Cast in clear resin with texturing, the mushroom features a translucent stem and cap with layered earthy tones that give it the appearance of a naturally occurring extraterrestrial fungus. It measures approximately 4 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter and was produced specifically to populate the interior of E.T.'s botanical spacecraft, helping to establish the alien's unique ecosystem.
The prop remains in production-used condition with expected studio-made finishes and age-related wear. Please review the photographs carefully, as they are part of the description and best represent the item's overall condition.

Both Icons of Pop Culture and the Bidder agree that any disputes under these Conditions of Sale, the subject matter hereof, the entering into, or any aspect of the auction, shall be exclusively governed by Kentucky law, and that any and all claims or actions shall be brought and maintained only in Mason County, Kentucky in a State or Federal Court to the exclusion of any other venue, locale or jurisdiction. All parties submit to such jurisdiction.
Opening Bid Prices: Our Icons of Pop Culture auctions do not use estimate pricing, only a starting minimum bid price. Opening bids do not include the buyer’s premium, shipping, or sales tax.
Reserves: Our Icons of Pop Culture auctions do not use reserves, so the opening price is where bidding starts, and the highest bidder will win the item.

The auctioneer has the right in its absolute discretion to reject any bid in the event of dispute between bidders or if the auctioneer has doubt as to the validity of any bid, to advance the bidding at its absolute discretion and to determine the successful bidder in the event of a dispute between bidders, to continue the bidding or to reoffer and resell the lot in question. In the event of a dispute after the sale, Icons of Pop Culture’s record of final sale shall be conclusive.

In order to help avoid disappointment, Icons of Pop Culture recommends placing a realistic absentee bid early.
Successful Bids: The proverbial fall of the auctioneer’s hammer indicates the final bid. Icons of Pop Culture will record the paddle number of the buyer. Winning bidders shall be notified with an invoice within 48 hours after the conclusion of the auction.
Certificate of Authenticity: For each lot, Icons of Pop Culture will supply a certificate that features the items production name and description, along with a tamper-evident, anti-counterfeit security hologram sticker and unique serial number for future reference.
