Incorporated in South Dakota. Cert. #1043, issued in 1914 for 1,050 shares to Dr. Herbert T. Thurber. Signed as president by Chas. H. Kinton and Jacob A. Gramm as secretary. Green under print vignette of an eagle and shield. Black and green on crème paper. Slightly rough top right edge and small fold splits at the top. The company’s property was known as the Dakota-Calumet or Lillian was near Sheridan, Pennington County. The 52 claims totaling 179 acres had small amounts of rich ore down to 30’, but the property was valueless as a copper mine, according to the 1918 Mines Handbook. The company also held a bond on the Gonden Summit gold mine, 3 ½ miles S.E. of Hill City and was developing it in 1918. VG+.
