This is a beautiful stock certificate with one of the nicest Native American vignettes. It is also in nearly perfect condition. Two vertical folds. This is number 2159 for 25 shares to George H Hutchet. Signed by president, secretary and treasurer. No condition issues. The 1902 United States Investor reports that suspicious activities were being seen with the company. In 1902 the company secretary and the mill superintendent were both discharged. A major stock holder sold his stock to the officers at 60 cents a share. Several smaller investors offered the same price to the company, but were told they were only worth 5c. When the mill superintendent, a man named Gleeson, left the Gleeson Store immediately lost half of its business as others followed. The property is a good one, the management is dubious.

This stock was a great investment in beauty, but not money. The Copper Handbook of 1911 reported that the Copper Bille Mining Co. went bankrupt in 1903 under suspicious circumstances? (Laguna Collection) Date: 1904 Location: Patagonia Mining District, Santa Cruz, Arizona HWAC# 59592
