Featured in this lot is this original oil on canvas painting titled, "Indian Troublemakers" by Clifton A. Faron (1876-1957) after C. M. Russell circa 1940. Faron was active in Washington, California and Iowa and was known for his landscape paintings. This painting was done after a C.M. Russell painting and is titled, "Indian Troublemakers". It shows two Native American men looking down into the river valley as their horses stand near by. The man sitting on the rock is holding a large spear and the other man is slowly making his way up. The horses show colors of black, brown and white and are grazing on the grass around the rocky path. The piece is signed by the artist in the bottom right hand corner reading, "Clifton A. Faron 1940" in black paint. The piece is set in a wood frame and shows good condition overall with wear present to the frame. No signs of damage or wear is present on the painting. The visible art measures 17 1/8" L x 23 3/8" W, while the entire piece measures 25 5/8" L x 31 5/8" W x 2" D. It weighs 10 pounds and 10 ounces.
