-Approximately 1” x 0.6” x 0.2”, hand engraved “George” at the center of a single face. All faces are highly polished, typical of several western assayers. It could be speculated that this ingot was made for a miner whose name was “George.” It was perhaps made for him as a present from his wife, since no surname is present. It may have been intended for a piece of jewelry, but was never made into a fob or otherwise. So, who was “George”? George Hearst? Probably not- it would have stayed in the family. HKA#65011
