Clark Crum was a painter who lived in New York City in the late 19th Century and exhibited at the National Academy of Design. This oil on canvas measures some 27" wide by 22" tall. It does not ever appear to have been cleaned or repaired. There are 4 flaked areas that can easily be repaired when the painting is cleaned and restored. The painting is artistically lit with a light source shining on a curved archway between two trees, a young lady is leaning against a tree with 2 sheep in the lane. Behind one of the trees is a large stack of wood for winter and a residence behind a long fence is clearly visible to the viewer. When viewed from a distance, the viewer would say this is either spring or summer and there is a look with a cap or head covering that the girl may be French. This is a very finished painting and will clean to be stunning.
