Item/Description: US Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber, which was standard issue for Union cavalry in the military during the American Civil War (1861-1865) and remained in service until the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is typically constructed from blackened steel and features a distinctive curved shape to house the saber's curved blade. The design includes two suspension rings attached to metal bands, allowing the scabbard to hang from a cavalry belt for ease of use while mounted. Includes a steel scabbard. (Militaria)
