CARIBBEAN: AR 3 escalins (4.78g), ND (ca. 1815?), cf. Lyall/DNW 5179, contemporary counterfeit of cut segment of Spanish Colonial Ferdinand VII 8 reales, no countermarks, crenulated cut edges, rim of host rather poorly imitated, 2 small reverse digs, interesting piece, VF. This is imitative of the cut coins of Martinique, but with wrong edge on host and of Ferdinand VII. This piece seems to have circulated well, perhaps in Martinique.
