Lot of 10. 1). Check issued 3 October 1891 for payment on account with F.M. Smith signature stamped at bottom. 2). Columbus, Nevada: Pacific Borax, Salt and Soda Co. Billhead with 26 entries of goods including baking powder, milk, sugar, coffee, and butter. 3-9). Teels Marsh, Nevada: signed, eclectic group of letters from Borax President F.M. Smith and Secretary Alton H. Clough. Typed in blue ink on crème. Letters to J.H. Strachan, Supt. regarding shipments of goods and the initiation to shut down a plant. Two letters discuss handing over operations of soda making to "Chinamen." 10) Letter to stockholders. The company was formed in the consolidation of Teels Marsh Borax Co., Pacific Borax, and other properties owned by President F.M. Smith.
