Lot of 3 commemorative sterling silver spoons. 1) Measures 5 1/4" in length, 1" in width at widest part of the mouth. Beautifully embossed spoon. "California" is on the handle vertically, and at the top of the handle is a woman sitting next to a shield and small bear. In the background are mountains and boats with "Eureka" across the sky. In the bowl of the spoon, embossed is an image of a large building. Above and below the image is "Washington School. Nevada City, Cal". Dull with stains, good. 2) Measures 5 1/4" in length, 1" in width at bowl. Also an embossed spoon. On the handle is an image of a miner mining, and a mule holding small packages. At the very top is a pan with embossed gold lying at the bottom of the pan, a pick, ax, rope, and shovel all stand behind the pan. The embossed ropes "ties" around the handle all the way down to the bowl where the rope is attached to a small barrel. Embossed in the bowl of the spoon is an image of a building, "Washington School. Nevada City. Cal." On the reverse: "From EMMA Dec. 25, '09", to the left is "P & B" written inside tiny heart shapes. Stains, fine. 3) Measures 5 1/2" in length, 1 1/4" wide. Embossed handle is an image of a tree branch with grape vines and flowers. The top of the handle is a pan with "California" and embossed painted gold lying at the bottom. A pick and shovel behind the pan, and a bear standing on cliff above the items. Engraved in the bowl is "High School Nevada City Calif." with an engraved image of the building. On the reverse side of the bowl is engraved, "From Neva Rebekah Lodge No 119, 1913". Bowl is painted gold. Very fine condition.
