For your consideration is a Brno (Zbrojovka) - Special Poldi Elektro side by side 12 gauge shotgun. Beginning as two separate factories, Zbrojovka Brno, founded 1918, in the town of Brno and Ceska Zbrojovka (CZ) at Uhersky Brod, founded in 1936. Both made shotguns and rifles but CZ seemed to be more into rifles and Brno more into shotguns. Under the communist system, both maker's were exported here under the name Brno. These guns were very solid, traditionally made of machined steel and walnut. With the fall of communism, Brno did not do well in the transition to a market ecconomy, CZ did and that is the name we see today. CZ has recently bought the remaining assets of the old Brno factory. The top of the right barrel is marked "MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA", the top of the left is marked "SPECIAL POLDI ELEKTRO" and the top of the rib at the rear has Zbrojovka Brno's logo. The bottom of the right barrel is marked "CHOKE-17.8", the bottom of the left is marked "CHOKE-17.6" which equates to a full and modified choke. The left barrel flat is marked "12", "2 3/4 / 70" and with an "N" in square proof. The "N" in square proof is also on the right barrel flat along with the serial number, "75" date code. The shotgun features a blued double trigger and sidelocks. The double barrels measure 28 5/16” with a brass beaded front sight. The walnut fore grip and stock feature deep and detailed checkering. The original factory blue is in good condition and shows minimal wear from handling. Serial Number: 1-004083-75. This is a modern firearm and requires a FFL transfer or NICS background check. Matt
