The lot features a set of fully front beaded wrist cuffs attributed to the Blackfoot (Blackfeet) Native American Indian and dating to circa early 1900. The set shows an Indian tanned heavy hide construction with a wonderful glass trade seed beaded design along the entire front. The beadwork design shows a chalk white background with a floral design in medium green, semi-transparent dark blue, sky padre blue, Cheyenne pink micro beads, semi-transparent red micro beads, and orange micro beads. The bottom edge of each gauntlet wrist cuff shows a fancy beaded edge in semi-transparent green, Cheyenne pink, semi-transparent red, and semi-transparent dark blue. The inside of each cuff shows an early trade clothe floral calico lining with trade thread sewn construction and a trade clothe piece creating the cuff area, showing a patina. The fringe is hand cut with a wide construction and later patina’d coloring, possibly a later addition to the set. The set is believed to date to circa 1900 to 1950 and show an overall good condition for its age. Each cuff measures 6.25”W x 7 7/8”L with additional 9” long fringe.
