Priced dust jacket with creasing, ink touch-up along the spine panel, and paper tape reinforcement of the edges and folds on the verso. Inscribed and signed by “Pappy” Boyington on the half-title page, “Aug. 3, 1960, To Art Ronnie, An old flyboy wishes a future loaded with smooth air. Sincerely, Col. Greg ‘Pappy’ Boyington.” Boyington was a Medal of Honor winner with the USMC. As a Flying Tiger, he shot down six Japanese planes and 22 in the Marine Corps. His exploits were the subject of the Black Sheep Squadron television series starring Robert Conrad.
