The lot features a wonderful authentic late 19th Century Arapaho Native American Indian beaded pipe bag. The piece is constructed of Indian brain tanned buckskin with an excellent traditional geometric beaded design on both sides. The bag also shows the original tie straps still intact with long hand cut frilly fringe. The bags beadwork is all glass trade seed beads in white, semi-transparent green, semi-transparent corn yellow, black, semi-transparent red, and semi-transparent greasy yellow. The long original tie straps also show four brass trade beads. The outer and top edge of the bag features a beaded strip, an artful and traditional addition. The bag is from the Collection of Ted and Lilly Jarvis of Wyoming. The piece shows overall good condition for its early age. Measures 31”L overall.
