Antique Wooden Black Ball Ballot Box
Item/Description: Antique wooden black ball ballot box, historically used by fraternal organizations and clubs for voting on new members. Voters would discreetly place either a white ball (indicating approval) or a black ball (indicating rejection) into the box. The term "blackballing" originates from this practice, where even a single black ball could lead to a candidate's rejection and allowed for anonymous objections. The box is designed with features that ensure the confidentiality of each individual vote. Contains 39 marbles.
