An Elaborate Arabic Illuminated Manuscript of Jazuli’s Guide to Good Deeds, Signed and Dated. al-Jazūlī, Abū `Abd Allāh Muhammad Ibn Sulaymān Ibn `Abd arRahmān Ibn Abī Bakr (died in the Islamic year 870, corresponding to 1460 AD). DALĀ'IL AL-KHAYYIRĀT (Guide to Good Deeds). This is one of the most famous books of prayer in Islamic literature. Number of leaves: 68 (136 pages); size: 12.4 x 16.8 cm; in beautiful, clear, and elegant naskhī script, in black ink, with headings, keywords and markings in red ink, on beige paper, 13 lines to a page.The Arabic text is completely vocalized. All pages are ruled in two lines in red throughout. There are two pages, which are highly illuminated in gold, blue, brown, and other colors. They are the opening page of the book and the page of beginning the prayers. The names of Prophet Muhammad are enclosed in rectangles in red, pages 9b - 12a. There are followed by two fullpage miniature paintings in gold and other colors, the first representing the Ka`bah in Mecca, the other the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad in the Medina Mosque. It was written by al-Hafiz `Ali Muhammad, one of the students of the students of Husayn in the year 1232 of the Islamic calendar corresponding to 1816 AD.  Bound in full morocco, with a flap, in the traditional Islamic bookbinding, with gold insets,.
