This is the original Atlantic Records promotional letter sent exclusively to U.S. radio stations in 1978 to accompany the now-legendary AC/DC "Live from the Atlantic Studios" LP. On official Atlantic Recording Corporation letterhead, the letter previews the release of AC/DC’s upcoming studio album Powerage and introduces the "Live at the Atlantic Studios" LP as a special broadcast-only radio show. The letter notes that the recording was captured that winter during the band's explosive U.S. tour and encourages radio stations to air the LP in full ahead of the new album release. Sent by Atlantic’s promotion team—Tunc Erim, Michael Klenfner, and Perry Cooper—the letter even includes a lighthearted P.S.: “Would love to know your thoughts.” Surviving examples of this letter are exceptionally rare, as most were discarded after broadcast use, making this a prized artifact from the golden era of AC/DC’s rise.
