This Wedgwood shell-formed and painted bowl is executed in the Wreathed Shell pattern, dating to circa 1815. The pearlware dish is modeled in a shallow, scalloped form emulating a seashell. The interior features hand-painted radiating lilac stripes extending from a yellow-washed center. The underside displays an impressed WEDGWOOD maker mark alongside an impressed letter T. This piece carries significant provenance, with labels for The Harry Sheldon Collection (Phillips, October 14, 1998), a Wedgwood Seminar at the Henry Ford Museum, and the Rubin Collection.
