(Madame Alexander, 1930s) An original composition doll inspired by the Disney Studios animated classic, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937). Featuring the first and fairest of the Disney Princesses, Snow White, the doll is dressed in a beautiful gown, with a hair wig, real and painted eyelashes, and strings inside the doll allowing poseable limbs. The Madame Alexander Doll Company, founded in 1923, pioneered the doll industry by introducing the "Sleep Eyes" feature, which allows dolls to close their eyes. This feature is present in the Snow White doll. Measuring 13" in length, the doll is in very good condition despite its age, with visible fading, discoloration to fabric elements with a spot of staining on the back of the cloak, and minor wear to the hair and eyelashes.
