Jeanrenaud, Pierre. MANUEL DU COMMERCE À L'USAGE DES CAPITALISTES, DES BANQUIERS, DES SOCIÉTIÉS COMMERCIALES PAR ACTIONS, DES SOCIÉTÉS ANONYMES, CHEMINS DE FER, DES CAISSES D'ÉPARGNE, GÉNÉRALEMENT DES NÉGOCIANTES, ÉTABLISSEURS, ARTISANS TRAVAILLANT SUR L'OR ET L'ARGENT, AGRICULTEURS, ETC. Neuchatel: Imprimerie Typographique de H. Wolfrath et Metzner, 1859. 4to, original green quarter roan, gilt. xii, 272 pages; tables; lithographic plate depicting coining machinery; 80 lithographic plates of coins, gold coins handcolored in deep yellow. Binding a bit worn but sound; else near fine. A rather rare guide to the circulating coins of the world. Judging from the American coin illustrations, some "liberty" was taken with their accuracy, perhaps epitomized by a Capped Bust 1831 silver dollar. In another amusing instance, an 1849 Oregon beaver gold $5 obverse is combined with a Norris, Gregg & Norris reverse. Ex Ferdinando Bassoli library, with his bookplate.
