A GEORGE WOSTENHOLM AND SON, WASHINGTON WORKS, SHEFFIELD FARRIER'S KNIFE - George Wostenholm made the knives of American settlers and pioneers. In 1848 he established his 'Washington Works' at Sheffield, England. This horn-handled 4” bladed knife is clearly marked with Wostenholm's Washington Works, Sheffield stamp. The knife has been twisted into a farrier's knife for use in scraping horses' hooves. While the horn handle is not original to the knife, the blade and its adapted handle are unique and interesting to collectors.
Condition: Fair condition as appropriate with use and age.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
