For your consideration is this extensive collection of 50th Anniversary Peterson Field Guides. Roger Tory Peterson (1908-1996) was an American naturalist, ornithologist, artist, and educator. His first field guide was the classic 1934 book "A Field Guide to the Birds". This became the inaugural volume of a series of field guides created and edited by Peterson (as well as numerous editions/ updates of each volume) to assist the layman in identification of birds, plants, insects, and other natural phenomena. This beautiful set includes 50 titles in the series; each volume is leatherette bound with all edges gilt, gilt lettering on covers, and colored marker ribbon matching the cover. some of the titles include "Freshwater Fishes"-Page and Burr, "Medicinal Plants"-Foster and Duke, "Mexican Birds"-Peterson and Chalif, "Western Butterflies"-Tilden and Smith, "Mammals"-Burt and Grossenheider, and many more. All volumes are in very fine/ like new condition. Each volume measures 4.75" x 7.5"
