For your bidding pleasure is this 19th Century Kuba Kingdom Executioner Sword. The Kuba Kingdom, also known as the Kingdom of the Bakuba or Bushongo, is a Kingdom in Central Africa. The Kuba Kingdom flourished between the 17th and 19th centuries in the region bordered by the Sankuru, Lulua, and Kasai rivers in the south-east of the modern-day Democratic Republic of the Congo. An executioner's sword is a sword designed specifically for decapitation of condemned criminals (as opposed to combat). These swords were intended for two-handed use, but were lacking a point, so that their overall length was typically that of a single-handed sword (ca. 80–90 cm). This sword is showing its age with a chip to ythe tip of the sword and a rusted through hole in the top part of the sword the handle is hand carved and secured with straw string fastening the blade to the hilt. The measurements of this sword are 22" x 3".
