Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, Arizona Territory jail door locking mechanism circa 19th century and was housed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The locking mechanism is wonderfully and professionally crafted forged iron construction that shows a bar that inserts into the female second most probably attached to a door, and shows a locking compartment underneath the bar insert. The locking mechanism comes complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Tombstone Jail Door Lock. The condition of this jail door lock is preserved with heavy oxidation due to exposure and is disconnected from the jail door itself but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of this door lock is 5" x 6 1/8" x 3/4". The collective weight of this jail door lock is 14oz. TT-04
