1965 1st Ed. The Ace of Diamonds by Ace Powell
Featured in this lot is this first edition "The Ace of Diamonds" by Ace Powell published in 1965. The Ace of Diamonds was written and illustrated by Montana Western artist Asa Lynn “Ace” Powell and published in 1965 by Thomas Printing in Kalispell, Montana, under the editing of Van Kirke Nelson. This approximately 43–48 page illustrated paperback features a mix of Powell’s whimsical anecdotes, reflections on cowboy life, Glacier Park, and his experiences in Montana, all accompanied by his own pen-and-ink drawings and sketches. Importantly, the book's title also references Powell’s personal trademark: the ace of diamonds emblem he used to sign virtually all his artworks, which became his artistic moniker and symbol throughout his career. The condition of this book is well preserved with some slight discoloration to the cover and very slight browning to the pages due to exposure but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this book is 9" x 6". The collective weight of this book is U4oz.
