Included in this lot we have a hand written record board for Dan Patch the World Champion pacing horse originating from 1902. Dan Patch was a American standard bred pacer horse at the peak of American harness racing. He was undefeated his entire career and broke a total of fourteen world pacing records. He is best known for his record of fastest mile by a harness horse with a time of 1 minute and 55 1/4 seconds which stood as the world record for over 30 years. The record board displays Dan Patch's world records he set over his career of racing. The sign is written in white ink on a black sheet of paper. The piece is marked "Timed at Readville, Mass., M.E. McHenry, Up, Sept. 23, 1902 Champion Harness Horse of the World..." with a list of records below and other information at the bottom. The piece is set into a black frame with a off-white border around the record board. The piece shows good condition overall with some wear across the frame. The frame measures 25 3/4" wide by 34 1/2" tall with the record board measuring 19 1/4" wide by 27 1/2" tall.
