The piece depicts a Otoe Native American Chief with a bear claw necklace and a medal around his neck while dressed in a leather and cloth shirt. The chief shows green face paint and red dyed hair and is shown holding a pipe in his hand. The bottom of the lithograph is marked "No-Way-Ke-Sug-Ga Otoe Published by Daniel Bite & James G Clark, Philad. Drawn, Printed, and Colored at Lithograph & Print Coloring Establishment No 94 Walnut St Philo Entered According to act of Congress in the year 1842 by James G Clark in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania" across the bottom. the piece is set into a wood frame with a black border around the lithograph. The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear on the frame. The frame measures 18" wide by 22" tall with the art measuring 9 3/4" wide by 13 3/4" tall.
