OP with wear and some paint loss near the neck. Typical tight pulled back neck to breast form. Nice long broomtail.

Cypress root construction. One of Louisiana's earliest and finest decoy makers. In all original paint. Large shot scars and average in use wear. The orange hue or tint to the surface color at the waterline and below would indicate that this decoy was used at the mouth of the Mississippi River near Port Sulphur, LA. The orange hue is the reaction of the lead paint to the high content of sulphur found in that area.
