Ink on paper booklet, featuring bamboo and craggy rock, signed and after Zheng Banqiao (Chinese, 1693-1765), inscribed with 1 artist seal, 45 x 32 cm, Zheng was a Chinese painter and calligrapher of the Qing dynasty, known for his free-flowing depictions of bamboo and orchids. In his written works, the artist used a purposefully naïve style, incorporating aspects of ancient stone inscriptions and the 11th-century calligraphy of Huang Tingjian.
