Winchester model 1894 Special Order Rifle, .30-30 caliber,26” half-round half-octagon barrel, button mag, smooth pistol grip stock with Winchester Repeating Arms grip cap and Winchester hardrubber shotgun buttplate,serial #96734, made approx. 1900. The rifle shows 50-70% original blue drifting and thinning at the edges with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. There are some scratches on the frame and some scratches atthe top of the barrel. The barrel address is good, edges fairly sharp. The stocks show many nicks and mars in the varnish, some dings and gouges in the edges of the buttstock, but still a good wood to metalfit. The forearm has been lightly cleaned with steel wool but no standing. The rifle shows a later buck-horn rear sight in the original dovetail which is probably a Lyman, and there is an extra high front sight in the front dovetail made for use with this large buckhorn rear sight. The hammer and lever shows traces of original blue, the edges are good, bore good. There is one bad chip on the left side of the stock, right above the
