Winchester model 1885 high wall lever-action single shot rifle, .32-40 caliber, 30” No. 3 octagon barrel, traces of blue and case hardened finish, standard wood stocks with crescent butt, serial #9706. The barrel shows 20-40% original blue drifting to a brown patina with some scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting just starting in a few areas. The barrel address and caliber markings are sharp, edges are crisp. Theframe shows 20-40% case hardening drifting to a grayish patina with some erosion just starting and some very colorful areas, particularly on the top of the tang and edges. The stocks are good with 50-60%varnish and would have been very good except for some mars around the wrist area, some small chips, minor losses, but are at least very good overall. The front and rear sight are in their correct dovetails and areoriginal to the period. The bore is very good plus and still bright. Est: $1,400 - $2,800
