Winchester model 1866 S.R.C. in .44 Henry rimfire caliber, factory full nickel plate with Buffalo Bill Historical letter confirming finish and configuration also received in warehouse November 12, 1883,shipped November 21, 1885 to order number 2526. Serial #164512. The carbine shows 90% plus original nickel on frame just starting to peel and age. The hammer and lever show 50% plus original nickel. The barrel andmagazine tube show 40%-60% nickel. The bands, small parts and period swivels show 20% plus original nickel. The metal surfaces where nickel is lost are dark patina with some beginning erosion and pitting in the exposedmetal areas. The stocks are select quality, show a slight burl wood grain with a light refinish to butt stock. The forend is very good plus and original. The action is good, bore is only fair and the barrel address issharp and crisp. Full nickel model 1866’s are very scarce to rare and particularly when factory documented. Est.; $8,000-$16,000
