This lot features a Winchester Model 1897 12 Gauge Pump Action Shotgun. The shotgun features a full choke, 26" blue'd barrel, hard rubber recoil pad, and takedown feature. The Winchester Model 1897, also known as the Model 97, was a pump-action shotgun with an external hammer and tube magazine manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. The Model 1897 was an evolution of the Winchester Model 1893 designed by John Browning. From 1897 until 1957, over one million of these shotguns were produced. The barrel on this 1897 retains most of the original factory finish and is marked "Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. - New Haven Conn. U.S.A. Pat. Nov. 25. 90. Dec. 6. 92. July 21. 96. Feb. 22. 98. June 14. 98." The deluxe highly figured walnut stock is in good condition with light scratches and one large dent on the left side. The shotgun is in good working condition. The shotgun was manufactured in 1900. Serial Number: 92522. It is a Curio and Relic firearm and requires a FFL transfer or NICS background check.
